BWDBC Forbes Tournament 2011 Under 11 Winners

Wilpshire Wanderers Blacks retain the Forbes Tournament Trophy!!
After a slow start to the tournament the Blacks managed to get "in the groove" with 3 wins on the bounce, that ended up with them beating Reddish 10 in the final, with Sam Barden scoring the winner. With only 10 boys available, and 6 games to play, all the boys made valuable contributions throughout the day. Josh Willis, the keeper, only conceded one goal throughout, the back 3 of Howarth, Steele and Woodruff where like the Arsenal of old! All the midfielders and forwards got in on the goalscoring act, with the highlight being a fine team goal, capped off with a wonderful finish by Rafferty Ansbro. Well done to all the Boys!

BWDBC Forbes Tournament 2010 Under 10 Winners
Wilpshire Wanderers Black enjoyed a 100% record on Sunday en route to scooping the prestigious Forbes Tournament 2010. Set a stiff group Wilpshire won their group games convincingly, progressing with style to the final. A hard fought 10 victory started the ball rolling followed by wins against Barrowford (20) and Rishton (21). A place in the final secured against the much fancied Clitheroe Wolves team, Wilpshire went in one up at half time. They increased the lead to 20 soon after the break and then despite a late goal that got the pulses racing, the Blacks won their first piece of silverware.
The boys all deserve great credit for their success.

10 Sam Barden
